    My Thoughts

The 7 Events? What are "The Seven Events"? My only answer is... I don't know. A long time ago my grandmother impacted my life by reading me...

  • This week I spent my $25 on Donuts for an FCA meeting, and let me say that being a part of BRHS FCA is paying off. To all of the Youth Pastors out there, investing in students at local school ministries is one of the most impact-ful things you can do as a part of your career (or whatever you call it). There is so much potential with the students at BRHS and I am so pumped about what our future holds. The only problem is that sometimes it can distract me by the awesome fruit it produces. When I look back at the youth group, I don't see as much, and so it seems to pull me. What I do know is that God is moving and working in both, through both.

It makes me wonder what would happen if just one guy like me decided to give it all up and turn away from Jesus. What kind of impact would that have? When I post that question to myself, I am reminded of my favorite book, Esther. In it, Mordecai, Esther's Uncle, wills Esther to go before the king to save the Jews. She doesn't want to for fear that the King would have her killed and so she tells Mordecai that she can't. Mordecai responds, rather poetically, that if she chooses not to help the Jews, that relief will rise from somewhere else, but her and her family will be scorned and shunned. All that to say that God is good and He honors His promises. His promise to be with us wherever we go, no matter what. His promise to never leave us or forsake us. And thank him that we are blessed with that opportunity. All thanks be to Him for providing me the opportunity to be a youth pastor and impact students' lives.

On another note, here is part of a graphic I am working on for J10...
